Dolomite or dolostone is a carbonate sedimentary rock containing more than 50% by weight of the mineral dolomite. Dolomite rock may contain calcite, but the content of calcite should not exceed 10% of the calcite-dolomite pair’s content 3 .
Plus de détailsWatheroo Dolomite and the products from Watheroo Minerals are very different. Watheroo dolomite is a crushed and screened dolomitic limestone. Watheroo Minerals is a calcium bentonite product, obtained from the lake system and these are clay based products belonging to the Calcium Bentonite group.
Plus de détailsMineral Composite is a unique structure which enables dolomite stone to attain a whole new level of durability in the bathroom. The dolomite stone is reinforced with a flexible binder of resin which ensures resistance under load, damage from impact and the effects of high and low temperatures.
Plus de détailsDolomite and ferroan dolomite occur frequently as pseudomorphs after calcite and also after aragonite. Rarely pseudomorphic after cerussite, baryte and fluorite. Several species have been recognized as incrustation or substitution pseudomorphs after dolomite crystals.
Plus de détailsDolomite as a ceramic material is a uniform calcium magnesium carbonate. In ceramic glazes it is used as a source of magnesia and calcia. Other than talc, dolomite is the principle source of MgO in high temperature raw glazes.
Plus de détails"Dolomite" is a word that is used by geologists in two different ways: 1) as the name of the mineral dolomite; and, 2) as the name of a rock known as dolomite, dolostone, or dolomite rock. This page is about dolomite rock.
Plus de détailsCalcite and dolomite are very similar minerals. Both have the same hardness (H = 3), the same rhombohedral cleavage, and are found in identical geologic settings. The best way to tell one from the other is the acid test: a drop of 1 M HCl on calcite produces an instant, obvious fizz; a drop on dolomite produces slow or no obvious bubbling.
Plus de détailsDolomite is the name of a sedimentary carbonate rock and a mineral, both composed of calcium magnesium carbonate Ca Mg(C O 3) 2 found in crystals. Dolomite rock (also 'dolostone') is composed predominantly of the mineral dolomite .
Plus de détailsIndustrial Minerals Manufacturer of a wide range of products which include dolomite mineral, lime mineral, industrial minerals, moisture free silica sand, natural quartz lumps and quartz chips.
Plus de détailsDolomite is very similar to the mineral calcite. Calcite is composed of calcium carbonate (CaCO 3 ), while dolomite is a calcium magnesium carbonate (CaMg(CO 3 ) 2 ). These two minerals are one of the most common pairs to present a mineral identification challenge in the field or classroom.
Plus de détailsDolomite is best identified on the basis of its softness, well-developed rhombic cleavage, and its reaction with dilute acid when dolomite is crushed into a powder.
Plus de détailsDolomite was named in 1791 after the French mineralogist and geologist D. de Dolomieu (1750-1801). It is an important sedimentary and metamorphic mineral and is also found as a hydrothermal vein mineral. It is a major source of magnesium, particularly for agricultural and pharmaceutical applications.

Plus de détailsChe Dolomite is a common sedimentary rock-forming mineral that can be found in massive beds several hundred feet thick. Dolomite is a gentle stone that encourages charitable actions, generosity and giving of all kinds, as well as receiving.
Plus de détailsDolomite (/ ˈ d ɒ l ə m aɪ t /) is an anhydrous carbonate mineral composed of calcium magnesium carbonate, ideally CaMg(CO 3) 2. The term is also used for a sedimentary carbonate rock composed mostly of the mineral dolomite.

Plus de détailsMineral dolomite is a two salt of Ca-carbonate and Mg-carbonate with a crystal lattice in which the properly sorted layers of CaCO 3 of calcite structure and layers of MgCO 3.
Plus de détailsDolomite is a mineral that has a special saddle-shaped crystal. Dolomite is a common rock-forming mineral. Dolomite originates in the same sedimentary environments as limestone - warm, sand place, shallow, saltwater environments.
Plus de détailsDolomite: Dolomite, type of limestone, the carbonate fraction of which is dominated by the mineral dolomite, calcium magnesium carbonate. Along with calcite and aragonite, dolomite makes up approximately 2 percent of the Earth’s crust. Learn more about the structure, properties, and uses of dolomite in this article.
Plus de détailsDolomite is the principle member of the Dolomite Group of minerals which includes ankerite, the only other somewhat common member. Dolomite forms rhombohedrons as its typical crystal habit. But for some reason, possibly twinning, some crystals curve into saddle-shaped crystals.

Plus de détailsDolomite – A Useful Mineral. Dolomite is also known as dolostone and dolomite rock. It is a sedimentary rock which primarily consists of the mineral dolomite. It is found in sedimentary basins worldwide. Dolomite rock is similar to limestone rock. Both dolomite and limestone rocks share the same colour ranges of white-to-gray and white-to ...
Plus de détailsMinerals are not equivalent to rocks. A rock is an aggregate of one or more minerals or mineraloids. Some rocks, such as limestone or quartzite, are composed primarily of one mineral—calcite or aragonite in the case of limestone, and quartz in the latter case. Other rocks can be defined by relative abundances of key (essential) minerals; a granite is defined by proportions of quartz, alkali ...
Plus de détailsThe mineral dolomite is the main component of the sedimentary rock that is also called dolomite. It is similar to the mineral calcite but contains magnesium as well as calcium. Just based on looks, the rock dolomite is often impossible to distinguish from limestone , which is composed mainly of calcite.
Plus de détails2. (Geological Science) a sedimentary rock resembling limestone but consisting principally of the mineral dolomite. It is an important source of magnesium and its compounds, and is used as a building material and refractory
